November's Celebrated Customer
Johnwicki Mailing, a printing and mailing services company in Ypsilanti, was unable to grow to meet increasing demand for their services due to aging equipment that they had in place. Working with UTEC, Johnwicki owner Kent Greniewicki upgraded from a large-office MFP to the Sharp MX-6500N Light Production Copier. This unit was better suited to completing portions of jobs that previously would have been outsourced, (which lowered revenue). This meant more chances to bid on work, and higher profit margins on the jobs that got completed in-house.
In addition to the Sharp MFP, UTEC partnered with Johnwicki to upgrade several other pieces of equipment that see use in creating and distributing mailed items. By bringing in a new pneumatic cutter, right angle folder, and a UV coater, workflow efficiencies will be realized. Since Johnwicki strives to keep costs low by minimizing needed operator interaction, it is imperative that jobs can be done by machine rather than by hand. Understanding these challenges made it clear to us that the most efficient machinery would be needed. The addition of the UV Coater opened up new profit possibilities, with the opportunity to bid on jobs that they might have had to pass on.
Service is a key differentiator for UTEC, and this was evident in the attention that the Johnwicki business received. We sat down with Kent and his staff and created a service plan that allowed him to contain costs, which allowed him to quote better pricing to his prospects. Better pricing means more jobs won, and by helping him grow, UTEC has shown that we are more often looking to create partnerships rather than just customers.
November's Spotlight Employee is Jeremy Bebber
Jeremy joined Team UTEC in December 2014 and has proven to be an excellent sales person. He listens to clients and prospects to discover what their challenges and goals are before making recommendation on office technology improvements. Each year he is learning new skills and continues to improve himself personally and professionally. Jeremy is becoming a top performer for the UTEC sales team and is a great role model for the new sales reps at UTEC.
Jeremy is originally from Saline, he attended Michigan State University where he graduated from the Broad College of Business with a degree in Marketing. When he is not working he is often enjoying the outdoors. Kayaking, camping, fishing and hunting are just a few activities that keep him busy. In addition to being an outdoorsman, Jeremy spends time helping lead a small group at his church, traveling to new destinations and watching his Spartans on the football field and basketball court.
