Volvik LPGA

University Office Technologies (UTEC) has been name the office tech company of the May 23rd thru May 29th 2016 LPGA Volvik Championship held at Travis Pointe Country in Ann Arbor.

In this role, UTEC provided lap tops, servers, MFP copiers, AQUOS display boards and a secure shared cloud portal. Behind all of this hardware, UTEC managed all IT support at the tournament offices and during the tournament.

This inaugural Ann Arbor event drew thousands of spectators who enjoyed spectacular Michigan sunshine and competitive professional golf.

Ariya Juntanugarn of Thailand won the event. Juntanugarn shot 5-under 67 during the final round to be 15-under for the tournament and five shots ahead of Christina Kim who birdied the final hole to take control of solo second place.

One initiative tied to this Memorial Day weekend event is to create awareness for the services offered to military families through the National Network of Depression Centers (NNDC). The NNDC has a special commitment to aid the mental health of our dedicated military members, veterans, and their families.

“This was certainly the right thing to do as an important economic impact to our community and businesses.  There are only 33 of these events in the world and to have one in our back yard here in Ann Arbor is amazing.  It is great visibility to our market and a great event to make our own.”
